Disney Springs offers a variety of shopping options, from Disney Parks merchandise to surf style to beauty products and more.
Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney, is a shopping, dining, and entertainment district at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. No admission is required, and parking is free, making Disney Springs an appealing destination for tourists and locals alike. Recent expansion added a newer, larger depot for Walt Disney World bus transportation, two multi-level parking garages with “smart” parking space technology, and of course, numerous retail stores and specialty eateries.
As with any Disney destination, the venue, of course, has a back story. In this case, the name Disney Springs pulls from Florida’s rich history and natural appeal, with the idea being that this “town” originated around some natural springs dating back to the 1800s. Like Florida’s fabled fountain of youth, modern amenities fill the area and bring a rejuvenation the district! Guests visiting Disney Springs can now purchase their hearts’ content of souvenirs at World of Disney–where you can get almost anything Walt Disney World-related–and then venture on through the scenic town of Disney Springs.
With about 30 restaurants and over 150 stores now calling Disney Springs home, the area has an wide array of dining and shopping choices to suit anyone’s taste. Old standbys like Raglan Road and T-Rex are still around, while places like Planet Hollywood and Paddlefish (formerly Fulton’s Crab House) have been overhauled to offer new delights. Meanwhile, completely new digs have come in, like Chef Art’s Homecomin’, Morimoto Asia, and Blaze Pizza have brought in entirely new food flare. And yes, most comply with the Disney Dining Plan.
Familiar shops like the savvy surf style of Curl by Sammy Duval and the funky foot fashion of LittleMissMatched remain, and loads of new markets and boutiques have brought in a lot of new merchandising options. Luggage didn’t arrive on the plane with you? No worries! Stop by Free People or Lily Pulitzer to restock your wardrobe. Need makeup essentials? Sephora’s got you covered! Visiting Florida on our one cold winter day? Hey, Uggs can keep your toes warm!
With so much to offer at Disney Springs, whether you spend a few hours or stay all day, two things are certain: you won’t go hungry and you won’t run out of places to shop!

One of our favorite stores at Disney Springs is a bath and beauty product shop called Basin. Basin specializes in chemical-free items like bath fizzies, shampoo and conditioner bars, fresh cut soaps and more! Not only are the products great for skin care, but some are also fun. This bath bomb, appropriately called “Princess,” that my daughter bought revealed a cute little pink ring as it dissolved in the water.
One of my daughter’s favorite Basin products is their sugar scrub. It can be a little pricey for my young teen, so you can imagine how excited she was to discover a recipe to re-create a little Disney Springs‘ Basin magic at home!
This Mickey Mouse Sugar Scrub not only refreshes your skin, but it also looks cute on the bathroom counter and makes a nice birthday or holiday gift for someone special.
Here’s what you’ll need for the Mickey Mouse Sugar Scrub:
1 cup sugar (this depends on the size of our jar)
1 drop yellow food gel coloring (Americolor)
1 drop red food gel coloring (Americolor)
1 1/2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 mickey mouse figure (Dollar Tree)
1 jar (Hobby Lobby)
What to do:
Divide sugar into three bowls. Add one tablespoon of coconut oil to each. Stir well.
In one bowl with sugar add red food gel and stir well. In another bowl with sugar add yellow food gel and stir well.
Pour red into jar, then pour the white, then top off with the yellow. Place mickey on top and press down. He’s a great hidden surprise in the middle. Close with jar lid. Decorate the top for more visual appeal!
